About The Role

 

We are looking for a Graduate Process Engineer to work within our Production Team starting September 2025, your role as a Graduate Process Engineer will be to provide knowledgeable technical resource to assist work teams on daily operations & process issues and support longer term plant performance, defining and using performance measurements to increase plant asset utilisation and eliminate unplanned events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering guidance for safe & reliable operation to the Production Team and identify improvement opportunities through customer feedback and through programs driven by the business.
  • Coordinates, coaches and actively promotes the plant safety & quality programs, required to achieve business goals and customer satisfaction
  • Provide technical support to the operations team to root cause daily plant issues and upsets
  • Utilise existing and develop new measurement tools to track and report performance using performance indicators for production yields, raw material conversion, resource utilisation and asset utilisation.
  • Work with Production Technicians, network with other engineers on site and other wider business partners to leverage knowledge on plant operations.
  • Translate Business needs relating to production into production optimisation goals
  • Provides operating guidance to be applied in procedures and process operating discipline and identifies improvement opportunities through customer feedback and through programs driven by the business.
  • Develop solutions to deliver safe, high quality, reliable and operable improvements.

Additional Information

  • Support the guidance for the operational decisions necessary to deliver plant performance targets.
  • Participate in incident investigations in accordance with Vivergo Incident Investigation standard and determine the root causes to avoid recurrence.
  • Participate in the area Management of Change (MoC) programme
  • Investigate operational deviations following appropriate techniques and lead corrective actions to avoid future repeats

Salary: Starting salary £35,000 
 
Working Hours:  Monday-Friday 37.5 hours per week
 
Location: Saltend Chemicals Park, Hull

About You

Knowledge – skills and experience required

 
The successful candidate will be educated to a MEng (preferred) or BEng Chemical Engineering degree level qualification with a minimum 2:1 predicted degree result. You will have either Industrial and / or Summer Placement experience in a relevant industry which is preferred but not required. Ideally you will have an understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes and understand management of change processes. Knowledge of statistical of analysis tools is required.
